Technical facts / Merchant API

API

The Merchant API supplied by Netgiro is an in-house developed passive component that is integrated into the merchant's e-shop system. The API is very easy to integrate, and as a back-end solution it gives the merchant full flexibility to manage the dialogue and presentation towards the end buyer, contrary to many other solutions built on “redirect” solutions.

It is hard to talk about standard integration times, as it depends on so many factors (e.g. number of banks, payment methods etc.), but typically a merchant starts testing after 1-3 days.

Communication

Normally merchants connect to Netgiro via internet using SSL encryption.

Security - Encryption

In order to secure the integrity of transaction data sent to Netgiro, Netgiro supplies merchants with an in-house developed SSL compliant tunnel software, SSLP. The SSLP runs as a daemon or service (on Microsoft platforms) in merchants' environments. The SSLP manages two things:

Encryption between merchant and Netgiro
Automatic fail over between the two processing centres

As SSL is an open standard the merchant is free to choose other SSL compliant tunnel software, and in that case manage the fail over on its own.
